After completing her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Dana Hot Yoga in 2012, Julia was more passionate than ever about yoga and wanted to share her love for yoga with others through teaching. As a student, Julia's teachers guided her through her practice to help her feel strong, confident, and powerful. As a teacher, Julia strives to help her students feel this way, too.
In 2015, Julia began a daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga and really developed a love for the practice. To dive even deeper into her practice, she completed a 40 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with David Swenson in 2016. Her personal practice heavily influences her teaching style so you will find her classes to be traditional, with a strong focus on breath and alignment,
Julia is committed to providing students with an ideal environment for them to discover the beauty and power of their own practice and their own yoga. She hopes that you will join her for a class soon!
Today her practice is more spiritual and has helped her find a better balance in her life.
As a mother of three, wearing many different hats in one given day, yoga and mediation allow her to stay grounded and present.
She loves to try all different types of yoga styles, exercise, spend time with her family and make her delicious V-Empanadas.
As a Yoga Teacher, Jen's priority is for students to feel both inspired and safe as they practice yoga. Her gentle physical and verbal adjustments allow students to challenge themselves while preventing injury. The non-judgemental environment in her classes helps students to practice kindness towards their bodies. Jen teaches self-awareness, so students are empowered to discover where they need to build more strength or more flexibility. She encourages students to find patience, compassion, calm steadiness and trust in themselves, while creating space in the body and mind, and following the breath as a guide.
Each class I teach starts with intention setting and the class is built around that intention. Slow, mindful movements can be expected during this class along with alignment cues and awareness of breath to help guide you into a deeper state of connection. Modifications are offered in each class because every body is different. All levels are welcome and each student is encouraged to move at their own pace. My teaching style is nourishing and honest. So, you can expect a purposeful class that is lead from the heart.
