YOGA INSTRUCTOR

I discovered yoga in 2014 while living overseas with my family in Australia. After my first yoga class I was hooked and drawn to the physical, spiritual and mental benefits of the practice. Not long after taking part in weekly and sometimes daily yoga classes I decided that I wanted to share my knowledge of this beautiful practice with others. I received my RYT from the Australian Yoga Academy and am also certified in Yin. I have a background in Exercise Physiology and am also a Registered Nurse.

Each class I teach starts with intention setting and the class is built around that intention. Slow, mindful movements can be expected during this class along with alignment cues and awareness of breath to help guide you into a deeper state of connection. Modifications are offered in each class because every body is different. All levels are welcome and each student is encouraged to move at their own pace. My teaching style is nourishing and honest. So, you can expect a purposeful class that is lead from the heart.

Ann instructs the following:
  • DIGITAL: YIN YOGA
  • Enjoy the healing benefits of Yin Yoga while cultivating the practice of mindfulness. This class will focus on restoring and providing balance to your body, mind and spirit as you foster inner awareness and peace. Find supportive props such as bolsters, pillows, blocks and blankets. This practice improves the mobility and health of your joints, while also calming the nervous system and stabilizing the mind.

Savor an extended Savasana with a guided meditation that will leave you calm and relaxed

  • YOGA FOR EVERYONE ~ FOUNDATIONS
  • In this class, postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.

  • YIN YOGA
  • "The quieter you become the more you can hear." -Ram Dass

Yin yoga is a deliciously deep, meditative and reflective practice in which floor-based postures are held for an extended period of time.

Unlike a dynamic yang practice that works the muscles through repetition, Yin works the deeper layers of the body such as the fascia, connective tissues, joints and bones. Yin is a deeply healing and nourishing practice with profound physical, emotional and energetic effects. During challenging times in our lives, our emotions can deplete our bodies of energy. The nourishing practice of Yin yoga helps to restore that energy for overall wellbeing.

Yin yoga is a wonderful compliment to any level of practice.

  • LIVE DIGITAL: VINYASA YOGA - ALL LEVELS
  • Vinyasa is a style of yoga where poses are strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement. Classes are often fast-paced and rhythmical, with a focus on connecting the movements with the rhythm of the breath. Vinyasa means to move with the breath, which is essentially the core of a Vinyasa class. Often called flow yoga, Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga with focus on transitions and movements, with less time spent in stationary poses.

  • VINYASA YOGA (HEATED)
  • Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like. Good for those looking for balance, alignment, functional strength and a deep stretch. This class will be customized toward the students in attendance. Come to your mat for strength and peace. Heated, 80-85 degrees

  • SPORTS STRETCHING
  • Stretching increases your range of motion and flexibility by making your soft tissues, such as muscles and ligaments, longer by decreasing stiffness. It can also help improve your performance in your sport, help with soreness after exercise and lower your chance of injury. Props will be used, such as foam rollers and bands to aid in the stretch.
