VINYASA YOGA -- ALL LEVELS

Julie Avans

SPINNING, YOGA, HIIT INSTRUCTOR

Julie was a year-round high-school athlete who turned to group exercise classes in college as a way to stay fit and maintain athleticism. She began teaching classes in 2005 at Penn State and has taught ever since. Expect an eclectic playlist with music to match the mood of each drill. Julie will not only push you, but she will give you tools to motivate yourself!

Lisa W Werny

Certified RYT 200 hr. – Yoga Alliance Certified Aerosling Instructor
“Yoga connects us and separates us at the same time. It grants us the ability to discover where we find our supreme energy as individual and to express that energy in a way that feels best for us.”
I started yoga to find balance and strength in my life both mentally and physically. After teaching aerobics for a few years in college and outside of college I discovered yoga and fell in love with the practice. I have enjoyed practicing yoga in a variety of styles for 15 years . Lisa is a graduate of the Verge Power Yoga/Empowered Yoga teacher training program and has been teaching yoga for over 5 years. She has experience teaching beginner and advanced classes as well as corporate classes for GE and classes for athletes at the high school level. She has a passion for sharing her enthusiasm for the practice and the benefits it brings to all levels of fitness.
She enjoys spending time outdoors staying active, hiking, biking, playing tennis with her two sons Mason and Rhys.

Darcy Feuerstein

YOGA INSTRUCTOR
 
Darcy fell in love with yoga immediately after she began her practice. It not only taught her an incredible amount about herself and her body but it was and still continues to be an extremely helpful tool in helping her deal with stress and anxiety. After years of deepening her practice from a wide variety of yoga teachers and retreats, she decided it was time to get her yoga teacher training certification. She completed the program at Pure Energy Studio with Kate Goodyear and Allison Sobel. Her vinyasa classes will take you through a series of poses that will bring heat, power and lengthening to the body and mind. Having spent years working in the fast paced corporate America, Darcy also aims to help her students navigate through the day-to-day stresses that can often accompany work life. Aside from yoga, she also enjoys cycling with her husband, cooking plant based recipes and is a passionate voice for the animal community.

Carol-E Ritter Elia

SPINNING, YOGA, HIIT INSTRUCTOR
 
Carol Reitter Elia, E-RYT200, RYT500, is also an ACE Certified Personal
Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor,
She started practicing Power and Astanga Yoga in the mid 90's with
teachers Baron Baptiste and Dee Silvers. Carol has been teaching
throughout the Main Line area for over 25 years including Power Yoga
Works, Main Line Heath & Fitness, Verge, Yogalife Institute, Philly Sports
Club and Ellis Athletic Center.
Carol devotes gratitude to her many previous teachers including Bryan
Kest, Beryl Bender Birch, Anna Forest, Shiva Rhea, David Swenson, Sri
Pattabi Jois, and Sean Corne to name just a few.
Carol founded “Yoga4Kids”, a company that brings yoga poses, meditation,
breathing techniques, movement and relaxation to kids and teens of all
ages.
More recently Carol’s latest endeavor is LIFE LONG YOGA a chair based
yoga practice for those who are unable to practice on the mat.
She loves long distance cycling and the beach. She is certified in TRX,
Aerosling, Zumba, Concept II Rowing, Real Ryder Cycling, and MyRide
Video simulation cycling
 

Sarah T Treat

Sarah's love for yoga started in college. She came to her mat looking for a way to cope with stress and relieve body aches. She fell in love with the practice as she realized it was transforming her mentally, spiritually, and physically. After graduating from Drexel with a BS in Health Sciences, Sarah deepened her practice by beginning yoga teacher training. Sarah received her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification through Svadhyaya Teacher Training. She is also a certified meditation teacher. She loves yoga for the community it builds, and for the practice's never ending learning process. Sarah truly believes everybody and every body can befit from yoga. She is a vinyasa teacher with Ashtanga and Anusara roots. In class she emphasizes breath control and alignment. Her classes are physically challenging, relaxing, and FUN! Sarah looks forward to seeing you on your mat!
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like. Good for those starting their journey into yoga, more experienced Yogis that want to fine tune their practice, or those looking for balance, alignment, functional strength and a deep stretch. This class will be customized toward the students in attendance. Come to your mat for strength and peace. Heated, 80-85 degrees
