Chris Somers

VINYASA YOGA CERTIFIED: RYT-200, AERIAL LEVEL I & II CERTIFIED

Chris Somers has worked in the fitness and wellness industry for the past 28 years. She has worked as the General Manager and Director of Marketing for several privately owned facilities. She has also owned and operated her own Marketing firm. It was her dream to be able to open her own studio and offer the community the services and programs that she is passionate about.

In 2001 she was drawn to yoga for the physical benefits. She quickly realized that the more frequently she made it to her mat, the better prepared her mind and body became at responding to the challenges of daily life. Yoga has taught her about what balance means on and off the mat. Her hope is to help others discover or re-discover these wonderful benefits. Helping everyone feel a bit more connected, empowered, and energized. The offerings at Purenergy are designed to engage and reward each person, young or old, beginner or advanced.

Amy S Schramm

VINYASA YOGA CERTIFIED

Amy Schramm, a Lululemon Ambassador, is a registered yoga teacher with over 300 practical hours of training. She completed her teacher training out of Laughing Lotus in New York City, studying directly under Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi. She has also completed her Yogic Arts Level One teacher training with Master Duncan Wong. In addition, she has practiced with Sharon Gannon, David Life, Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rae, Edward Clark, Naime Jezzne, Vinnie Marino, Dharma Mittra, and Kirsten Young. She has learned to incorporate different approaches to her yoga practice and her classes.

Amy believes that art, music, and a little physical exercise will cure what ails you. If you do not need a cure then just let yoga take you to that next place, where your mind is open and anything can happen. A world can change with an idea, a color, a word, or a new breath. There is no greater freedom than expressing yourself. Creativity is a gift and a choice. We give it to the young when we believe in it ourselves and we choose it when we realize it is what our soul calls for. Yoga should be fun. It has given her more self-confidence than anything she has ever done. It has taught her that if you try hard enough and practice, you can do anything you want to do. It's just a little commitment, some persistence and a love of what you're doing. It's that belief that she loves to share with other people. If you connect with it, it will change you for the better, forever.

Nicole Nguyen

RYT & RKC Certified

I have always been active and love to try new and different things. I've done anything and everything from Zumba to Crossfit and gentle yoga to Bikram. But it wasn't until I've discovered Kettlebells and Power Yoga was when I fell in love. Strength and flexibility had become my new addiction. I have my BA in Accounting and have worked as a Property Accountant for 15 years. Work/life balance had become very stressful and in 2013 I had decided to make a change and leave the corporate world and spend more time taking care of my family. It was the perfect opportunity for me to pursue my certifications in Power Yoga and Kettlebell. I've completed my teacher training at Power Yoga Works in Malvern in February 2013 and my RKC Kettlebell certification through Dragon Door in September 2013. In between, I went for my Zumba certification just for fun because I love to dance as well. My goal is to motivate others achieve a healthier lifestyle and have fun while doing it.

As passionate as I am about fitness, it simply does not compare to my true loves in life, my husband Max and my three beautiful children: Ethan, Josh and Emily. They are my entire world!

Holly Brinton-Bomba

Holly Brinton-Bomba became passionate about Yoga when she sustained multiple injuries while delivering her fourth child. These injuries left her unable to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time without experiencing pain. Holly was fortunate to have a Physical Therapist introduce her to specific Hatha Yoga postures, to be practiced daily to alleviate her discomfort. Holly became hooked and sought ways to deepen her practice physically as well as spiritually.

After several years of practicing on her own she knew it was time to follow her new, found passion to the next level. In 2009 she began Classical Yoga Teacher Training and has never looked back. I started yoga to find balance and strength in my life both mentally and physically. After teaching aerobics for a few years in college and outside of college I discovered yoga and fell in love with the practice. I have enjoyed practicing yoga in a variety of styles for 15 years . Kathy DiGiorgio

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

The physical benefits of yoga lured her to the mat in 1999 Not only did yoga transform her body; it transformed her mind and spirit. Little did she know that her yoga practice would play a huge part in her journey through breast cancer and into survivorship. Her practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless - both on and off her mat.

Kathy is a graduate of the Verge Yoga teacher training. She has also trained with Erica Bleznak, Simon Park, Rolf Gates and Ed Harrold. Healthy breathing, alignment, and balanced energy flow are the focus in her classes. Her teaching style brings humor, support and a non-judgmental attitude to her class.

Kathy lives in Havertown with her husband Steve, sons Steven and Michael.

Courtney Brown

Courtney lives to inspire others to realize their full potential and to be better than they were yesterday! She discovered yoga in college, as an avid long distance runner, weight lifter and gym enthusiast but regularly suffered from hip injury & pain. She was recommended yoga to not only heal her injuries, but also as a means to manage her stress levels during college. Being that she had no background in dance, ballet or gymnastics, the physical practice of yoga did not come easily to her. However; it was that afterglow effect that yoga has to release emotional, mental and physical sources of self-limitation that kept her regularly returning to the mat.
Courtney's yoga practice began elegantly showing her that a change of perspective “on her mat”, whether physical or mental, becomes a change of perspective “off of her mat” and into her world. This subtle shift made her realize that we are all capable of limitless possibilities!
As her love and dedication to yoga grew, so did her desire to share it with others. She completed her 200 hour Hatha Vinyasa certification through the yoga alliance that transformed her life deeply. It strengthened her confidence in the potential that yoga has to support life “off the mat” - in daily activities, in work as well as in relationships with people in your life! Courtney not only continues her cross-training (and is injury free) but she remains extremely dedicated to her yoga practice & continuing education; she is currently in her 500 hour Yoga & Ayurevda training with Kripalu. In her classes she strives to provide a safe, creative & fun experience “on the mat” that opens the doors for transformation “off the mat”.
Her passion for sharing her love of yoga and inspiring students to feel empowered most definitely shines through in each one of her classes.

Veronica Fitzgerald

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Veronica’s practice has evolved through out the years. Thirteen years ago, her curiosity for yoga allowed her the opportunity to explore with movement and breath. Her passion and love for the practice encouraged her to get trained to be a teacher and share this love with everyone.

Today her practice is more spiritual and has helped her find a better balance in her life.
As a mother of three, wearing many different hats in one given day, yoga and mediation allow her to stay grounded and present.

She loves to try all different types of yoga styles, exercise, spend time with her family and make her delicious V-Empanadas.

She is a vinyasa teacher with Ashtanga and Anusara roots. In class she emphasizes breath control and alignment. Her classes are physically challenging, relaxing, and FUN! Alison K Krywucki

Alison had an off-and-on relationship with yoga since her freshman year of college. Eventually, after falling in love with meditation, everything clicked into place and she couldn't get off her mat. Alison worked at a financial corporation for eight years. Regular practice helped her rise above the daily stress and pressure and for that, she is forever grateful.

In 2014, Alison realized she wanted to share yoga and meditation with others, especially with those coping with corporate stress. She completed her 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in the Ashtanga Lineage with Dhyana Yoga in Philadelphia. She continued working out on weight machines and taking aerobic & kick boxing classes during and post college. She tried everything out there at the time related to fitness.

A low back injury in her early 30’s temporarily brought her high impact routine to a halt. That is when she discovered Power Yoga. It was unlike anything she had tried before, but she quickly realized it was very necessary to achieve the balance she had been lacking. In 2014, Kim completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in the Baptiste style at YogaSport in Dallas, TX. She teaches a more powerful Vinyasa form of yoga in a heated room.
Each class will have different sequencing, and the heat is necessary to allow the muscles to stretch and toxins to release.

She is also an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She has found a balance in the calming nature of yoga and the more vigorous HIIT and strength class. She believes both are necessary physically and mentally. Her goal for every class is to challenge her students to discover their full potential and achieve their ultimate balance. Kim lives in Malvern with her husband, 3 children, and their Wheaton Terrier.
In this ALL LEVELS class you learn all the important fundamental poses while also enjoying some of the more challenging and difficult poses, including all the baby steps required. This Yoga class will be joyful and therapeutic! Some experience is required. Enjoy the 75 minute class and stay for some extras if you like.
