Jay’s training philosophy in using indoor cycling is centered firmly on helping individuals of all levels tap into their inner strength and then offering credible leadership to the help each reach their goals. By creating high-energy classes, set to seamlessly mixed music, he always looks to ‘light-up’ the class and to lead by example. All class formats are based on proven training principles and focused on the needs of the individual riders: thus simultaneously allowing beginners through the most advanced riders, to use the exact same ride to train for the journey.
He instructs with his strongly held belief that: when we develop our own inner-focus and commitment to the self, we find a new physical and mental connections which begin to change both our perceptions and abilities of what we previously believed was beyond our reach. The impossible can actually transform from challenging hard work to become a journey of achievement; where some riders find the act of continually reaching to be the true reward in and of itself.
Jay is a living example of someone who has dedicated his personal life to overcoming living on the edge any fears, doubts, or disbeliefs of what is possible. Now, living on the edge is ironically where he finds his spiritual center. He is a pure Adrenaline and thrill / challenge seeker. What you likely didn’t know about Jay, is that outside of the gym, his athletic and technical proficiencies included multiple advanced certifications in scuba diving, including wreck diving, cave diving, mixed breathing gasses, cage-less shark diving, as well as being certified as a rescue diver and medic. When not under the water, Jay has a passion for fixed rope climbing, surfing, Kite Surfing (Kiting), ultra-advanced downhill skiing, in addition to thousands of hours mastering open ocean solo sailing, and is certified to captain sailing yachts up to 120 feet.
