Julie W West

SPINNING, SPIN Power, TRX, Small Group Personal Training, CXWORX, Group Exercise

Julie has been teaching SPIN since 2008. As an avid road cyclist, she subscribes to the principle of “keeping it real” in her classes. Using her vast and eclectic music library, she creates training rides that will keep riders of all levels engaged and progressing to reach and exceed their fitness goals. As a life-long, team sport athlete, Julie understands the motivation and energy that a group dynamic fosters. As a cyclist, she understands the training value of a solid SPIN program; cyclists are the greatest endurance athletes! Incorporating cycling training techniques, anyone can become fitter, faster & stronger! Using the bio feedback metrics the SPIN bikes provide, that progress can be measured, providing extra motivation!
Julie has two sons, 25 & 21; their favorite family activity is time spent on the slopes out west. She recently moved to Berwyn where she and her dog enjoy daily walks, along with hikes in Valley Forge Park

Courtney M Morris

As a lifelong athlete, Courtney has always been interested in health and fitness, physiology, and

how to maximize exercise efficiency during the time spent in the gym. After taking her first

Spinning class in 1998, she was hooked, and became a Certified Spinning Instructor through

Mad Dogg Athletics in 2000. She completed her undergraduate work at Bryn Mawr College with

a degree in Biology, and continued her education at West Chester University where she earned

her Master's Degree in Kinesiology. During this time she also became a Certified Strength and

Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association

(NSCA).

Courtney has worked with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes since the completion

of her Master’s Degree. She has also been a collegiate-level adjunct instructor of anatomy and

physiology. In 2011, she became the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bryn Mawr

College, working with athletes across 12 Varsity sports. She teaches Spinning at Focus Fitness

Main Line, and just this past March, she completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training

certification through Svadhyaya YTT.

Jay Osterholm

SPINNING INSTRUCTOR

In Jay’s class you will get fit! Having taught spinning for over 18 years, Jay has experience in applying all levels of Spin training and tailoring that training to the needs of the riders. Jay was instructed by the creator of Spinning, Johnny G. Jay blends the principles of Spinning with the similar training he used to win the Nationals before preparing to compete in the U.S. Rowing World Trials. Core to effective training, is using heart rate as a key indicator of intensity resulting from unique combinations of pedal speed (RPM), resistance, held over time. Off the bike, Jay is a Master Instructor for new Johnny G program call In-Trinity, which teaches the benefits of a strong mind and body connection, through a blend of yoga, martial arts, and Tai Chi.

He instructs with his strongly held belief that: when we develop our own inner-focus and commitment to the self, we find a new physical and mental connections which begin to change both our perceptions and abilities of what we previously believed was beyond our reach. The impossible can actually transform from challenging hard work to become a journey of achievement; where some riders find the act of continually reaching to be the true reward in and of itself.

Laurie Veacock

SPINNING INSTRUCTOR

Laurie is a Level I Spinning Instructor. After participating in Spinning and cycle classes for over 10 years, she decided to become certified as an instructor. A lifetime resident of the Philadelphia area, Laurie has taught reading and music to elementary and middle school aged children with ADHD, dyslexia, and learning disabilities for the past 20 years. When not at school or Purenergy, she enjoys singing, knitting, cooking, and crafting. She shares a home in Chesterbrook with her husband and two cats.
In this class, you will be using the core to effective training. Using heart rate as a key indicator of intensity resulting from unique combinations of pedal speed (RPM), resistance, held over time.
