In 2001 she was drawn to yoga for the physical benefits. She quickly realized that the more frequently she made it to her mat, the better prepared her mind and body became at responding to the challenges of daily life. Yoga has taught her about what balance means on and off the mat. Her hope is to help others discover or re-discover these wonderful benefits. Suzanne owned clubs in the Washington DC and Richmond, Va area for 10 years, Contours, known for outstanding group exercise programs. Co-founder/owner and producer of DCAC Fitness Education Conferences in Washington DC, Richmond, VA & Houston, TX for 17 years, Suzanne has extensive fitness program knowledge. ACE, AFAA, Spin, Barre & Pilates certified, Suzanne has traveled on a national basis presenting fitness education workshops and as an AFAA Certification Specialist and Trainer. Additionally, Suzanne has studied the Pilates Method for 10 years with various training organizations and is a fully certified instructor with the Body Precision Pilates training program. She has also written several fitness articles featured in American Fitness,Shape Magazine and was Fitness Blog Editor for Realbuzz.com. Also, Suzanne has starred, presented and created programs for several fitness workout videos/DVDs.
Presently, Suzanne resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband and triplet boys where she was employed as Group Exercise, Barre and Pilates Director at Club La Maison Health and Fitness Center. Currently, she is Training and Program Director at Purenergy Fitness Studio in Paoli, Pa.
In her spare time, Suzanne is a competitive USTA tennis player with a 4.5 rating, co-captain to two USTA national teams, Deltri Division one Captain & coaches the Westtown School Girls' Tennis Team.
As a competitive swimmer in high school in Rio de Janeiro, Brenda has always loved athletics, but coincidentally began her passion for fitness classes at Suzanne Olson's studio in Washington, DC. Upon moving away from the DC area, she managed several group fitness programs in the Milwaukee area while obtaining a master's degree in Human Resources from Marquette University & a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
Brenda holds certifications in: Pilates Full Equipment & Mat, Zumba programs, Bokwa Dance Fitness, PowerStrike Kickboxing, Atletica, Barre Fitness, Yogafit, Crossfit, Spin Star 3, Aerial Yoga, Core Align, Aerial Yoga, Body Pump & has developed many other programs throughout the years.
Her previous career of 15 years was with the Central Intelligence Agency where she worked for Ben Affleck's character in the movie Argo. She was undercover traveling to many parts of the world during most of her Agency career until her last assignment in Human Resources where she managed the diversity program.
Brenda has been married for 31 years & enjoys traveling & the outdoors with her husband.
AERIAL YOGA LEVEL I & LEVEL II CERTIFIED
Bob first came to his yoga mat in 2007, to regain some of the flexibility that he had lost over the years. He learned that yoga is much more, with movement and breath providing many other benefits, including the ability to de-stress and find a deeper peace of mind. Bob took his first aerial yoga class in August 2012, and was immediately hooked. "Aerial yoga makes me feel like a kid again. It's a great workout, and it is so much fun that time flies by so fast and you barely know you are working out." Bob completed Level One and Level Two Aerial Yoga Teacher Training at Transcend Wellness and Yoga in 2013. He tries to make each class challenging and fun for his students, allowing them to grow their practice and build self-confidence, all while having a great time.
In the corporate world, Bob has worked for the same IT company for 39 years. He also enjoys cooking, is an avid runner, and a workout junkie. Bob has been married for 35 years, with 2 children and 3 granddaughters.
Tori has been local to the area her entire life living in Malvern and attending Immaculata University. If she isn't "monkeying" around in her hammock you may run into her at one of the many mat classes. She also enjoys cooking; working on cars,finding new and fun ways to work out; and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Flyers.
Nikki completed her comprehensive Pilates certification through Body Precision in 2009. Since then, she has taken many hours of continuing education ranging from Anatomy Trains to master Pilates teachers Luis Bravo and Rebecca Leone. She is currently finishing her second year of study to become a Restorative Exercise Specialist under biomechanist Katy Bowman. Nikki has practiced yoga since 1995 and discovered Pilates in 2004. She considers Pilates an insurance policy for the body, and strives to take her clients through all ranges of motion safely. Her specialty is using alignment markers to problem solve through movement and help release areas you may currently be feeling “stuck”. Outside of the studio, you’ll find Nikki spending time with her husband and two children, as well as walking, hiking, hanging from trees, practicing yoga, playing paddle, being the oldest person in ballet class, or walking on her slack line!
After several years of practicing on her own she knew it was time to follow her new, found passion to the next level. In 2009 she began Classical Yoga Teacher Training and has never looked back. Holly is an E-Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Children’s Yoga Teacher specializing in Hatha, Children’s Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Kundalini, PreNatal & Yin Yoga. Holly is also a Reiki ll and is presently studying Ayurveda. When she is not teaching or studying Yoga, Holly is spending time with her husband, four children and two lovely Granddaughters.
Jason is also certified to teach the practice of Vinyasa yoga. As an avid Yogi since 2011 and seeing the impact yoga has had in his life, he was inspired to share the gift of yoga with others. Jason recently completed the Svadhyaya 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. Students can expect to explore moving meditations that build strength, help to focus the mind and body, and to learn to find balance on and off the mat. Jason is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom his teachers have shared with him.
