Dark Side of the Moon Salutations with Tiffany with Tiffany Pierson Fri, Dec 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join Tiffany for this super fun 90 minute practice in the DARK. To celebrate the new moon, we'll be practicing Moon Salutations in a room full of black lights, while listening to Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon album. Students are encouraged to wear white or light colors. Glow sticks and glow paint will be provided.

This three-week series is designed for true beginners or for those looking for a review of the fundamentals. Allow Julia Paddison to guide you in a welcoming, frustration-free environment. The series is capped at a small size to ensure individual attention. Julia with lead you through the basics of vinyasa yoga, and will teach you how to modify postures for your body by intelligently using yoga props, such as blocks and straps.
 
This series breaks down the traditional progression of the vinyasa yoga into basic components. Students will move through an accessible and fun yoga sequence, gradually building on the previous week''s instruction. Students are encouraged to ask questions.

Backbending can be challenging both physically and mentally, however, it is one of the most therapeutic parts of a yoga practice when practiced with patience and equanimity. Backbends energize, refresh, and invigorate the body; relieving back pain, helping digestive system function, relieving stress, and building confidence and self esteem.
 
In this workshop, we will take the time to create space in the hips, shoulders, and front body, while strengthening the back body to allow the spine to move in a supported and safe way. We'll first approach the most basic backbends, like upward facing dog to help us understand some of the more complex backbending postures like wheel pose. We'll explore how to open our hearts to a deeper level, embracing the vulnerability required to blend healthy backbends into our yoga practice.
 
This workshop is open to students of all levels.

In yoga, it is said that the hips are known as the emotional junk drawer. When you don’t know how to deal with feelings of anxiety, grief, stress or other negative emotions, the hips are where these feelings are stored. Physically the hips are the largest joints in the body, support most of our body weight and are the stabilizers for the body to feel grounded. By doing hip opening asanas you can release physical and emotional stressors.
 
In this workshop with Tiffany, she will take you through a vinyasa flow with a focus of releasing tension and opening the complex hip structure. She will help you bring awareness to the breath so that you can soften and surrender to the hip opening poses. We will end the workshop with a guided meditation focusing on releasing of unneeded stressors.

Awaken to Stillness Meditation Teacher Training informs the participant through both didactic and experiential practices. This program is suitable for individuals wanting to deepen their knowledge and personal practices of meditation or teach and share the gifts of meditation with others. Upon completion you will have the necessary tools to teach meditation skills to anyone. In addition, you will be given a template to create an “Introduction to Meditation Workshop” that you can feel confident hosting at your local schools, businesses, health care centers, yoga and fitness studios. Learn the ancient wisdom techniques of meditation, as well as the science and practical applications. Teaching manual, materials and audio recordings will be provided. Yoga teachers receive CEU’s with Yoga Alliance.

Beginning an inversion practice can be equally intimidating and terrifying, but this workshop is designed to safely introduce your body and mind to an inversion practice.

In this workshop, you will master the proper technique of practicing inversions in various stages. Jumping into inversions or launching yourself into the wall is definitely not the way to go! Practicing inversions in various stages not only ensures that you will master the technique, but will also prevent any injuries, build self-confidence, and feel a sense of accomplishment. Techniques for practicing headstand and shoulder stand will be the main focus of this workshop.

Some yoga experience and a playful spirit is required.
